Immunizations

New York State bases its immunization schedule on the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP) and requires that all students in public, private, and parochial school submit to the school proof of immunization against against poliomyelitis, mumps, measles, diphtheria,  rubella, varicella, Haemophilus influenzae type b (Hib), pertussis,  tetanus, pneumococcal disease, and hepatitis B.

In accordance with our obligations under New York State Public Health Law § 2164, we are posting to inform you of the necessity to have your child immunized, that such immunization may be administered by any health practitioner, and that your child may be immunized without charge by the health officer in the county where your child resides.

In accordance with NYSPHL § 2164, ECFS must exclude students from further attendance effective Thursday, September 21, 2023, unless one of the following criteria is met for each outstanding immunizations. 

• Certificate of completed age-appropriate immunization or immunization series is submitted to the school;

• A physician licensed to practice medicine in this state certifies that such immunization may be detrimental to your child’s health (e.g. medical exemption); or, 

• The parent/guardian can demonstrate that a child has received at least the first dose in each immunization series required by this section and has age-appropriate appointments scheduled to complete the immunization series according to the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices Recommended Immunization Schedules for Persons Aged 0 through 18 Years.

What if we're moving from out of state/country? 

If your child is transferring from out-of-state or from another country the date of exclusion may be extended to thirty days and should be discussed with your divisional nurse.
