About Our Plans
Our plans were developed in accordance with Recovering, Rebuilding, and Renewing: The Spirit of New York’s Schools Reopening Guidance (“the Guidance”), the New York State Reopening Guidance for Religious and Independent Schools, and the Interim Guidance for In-Person Instruction at Pre-K to Grade 12 Schools during the COVID-19 Public Health Emergency with additional information from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). Designed to provide all students, employees, contractors, parents, and families with precautions to help protect against the spread of COVID-19, this plan meets the standards set forth in the COVID-19 guidance for schools and covers the following:
reopening of school facilities for in-person instruction;
monitoring health conditions;
containment of potential transmission of the 2019 novel coronavirus; and
closure of school facilities and in-person instruction, if necessitated by widespread virus transmission.
As required by the Interim COVID-19 Guidance for Schools, this plan was developed in partnership with administrators, faculty, staff, students, parents, unions, and local health care providers through the School’s COVID-19 Pandemic Response Task Force.
These plans are based on the best-known public health practices at the time of publication, and the documentation upon which this plan is based can and does change frequently. Consequently, all aspects of this plan are under continual reassessment and are subject to modification as circumstances and public health guidance recommend or require. The School will adhere to all local, state, and federal requirements relative to schools and auxiliary activities. The School will remain current with any updates to these requirements and related state guidance and will incorporate these updates into any school activities and school reopening plans.
